LOCATION OF WINDOWS UPDATES DOWNLOADED FILES

Trouble: 
 
You download lots and lots of windows update files from Microsoft. One 
fine day if your Windows gets ill and need a re-install, you will have 
to again download all those Windows Updates after a fresh install on 
windows. It is such a waste of time. 
 
 
 
Another case is when you have a computer which is not connected to Internet, what will you do in that case? So the question is: 
 
 
Can I save the Windows update files for re-use? 
 
 
 
Fortunately the answer is Yes! Saving the windows update files on a disk
 will help you install these files on a fresh installation of windows or
 to install these updates on a computer which is not directly connected 
to Internet. For this we need to know which directory Windows updates 
saves downloaded files to. Lets see the details of how to locate it. 
 
Fix: 
 
Windows Update files are located in ( C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download ) folder 
 
While updates are installing, their file attributes is set to hidden. 
You must show hidden and protected files on your PC, by tapping the ALT key and navigate to Tools - Folder Options 
 
 
 
Some updates are removed from this folder after installing, however 
after download, make sure you copy them to any other directory before 
installation.

GTBank Launches Its Mobile Money Application

One of Nigeria’s leading banks, Guaranty Trust Bank (popularly known 
 as GTBank) has just released its mobile money app on the Google Play 
for Android users and on the Apple App Store.

The bank says it is working on releasing the app via the Blackberry 
World (formerly Blackberry App World) and the Nokia Ovi Store, although 
 we’re not sure why it’s leaving out the Windows Store.

The app allows you to send money from your mobile phone to another 
mobile phone or bank account, even on the go, and you don’t have to have
 a GTBank account to use the app.

Perhaps one of the most interesting features is that you can link 
your GTBank account to the app, though you need to do so by filling a 
request form at a physical GTBank branch.

With GTBank’s Mobile Money app, you can make cash deposits into your 
 mobile money account via the Quickteller portal or Quickteller-enabled 
 ATMs. You can also make cash withdrawals from GTBank ATMs without a 
card as well as fund transfers to any recipient, whether they are 
mobile money subscribers or not as well as to other banks.

However, some of these features are not yet available as well as basic transactions such as buying airtime, bill payments, etc.

Once you download the app and register for a GTBank mobile money 
account (this process is pretty quick requiring your mobile number, 
first and last name and your date of birth), you would need to activate 
 the account with a unique One-Time-Password (OTP) or activation code 
and choose a 4-digit PIN to ensure privacy of your personal information
 and security of funds.

If you’re using an iPhone device, it gets more secure, since your 
GTBank mobile money app can only be accessed from your iPhone and would 
 require your Apple ID to use the app.

RIM ADDS Wi-Fi VOICE CALLING TO BLACKBERRY MESSENGER (BBM VOICE)

Research In Motion launched version 7 of its BlackBerry Messenger 
(BBM) service on Tuesday, adding voice calling to the software. The new feature, named BBM Voice,
 uses Wi-Fi networks for the voice calls and has a split screen mode 
allowing users to talk and text at the same time. Sill in beta, BBM 
Voice is available for BlackBerry 6 OS devices with plans for BlackBerry
 5 OS support in the future.

Here’s a rundown of the BBM Voice features, per RIM’s news release:

<li class="first">Customers can initiate a BBM Voice call directly, or instantly switch from a BBM text chat to talk, and back again.</li>
<li>The split-screen feature allows customers to talk and text at the 
same time, so for example, they can send a picture to their contact 
while talking with them. They can also check other BBM text chats, check
 email, or navigate to other apps while engaged on a BBM Voice call.</li>
<li>BBM provides a visual indicator that shows when contacts are available for a voice call.</li>
<li>BBM Voice is compatible with any accessories a customer has now for 
making voice calls on their BlackBerry smartphone, such as a Bluetooth® 
or wired headset. Customers can also use BBM Voice over their BlackBerry
 smartphone’s speakerphone.</li>
<li class="last">If it’s not an ideal time to talk, customers can simply choose to respond by texting back.</li>
</ul>
Adding voice capabilities to BBM is an idea that’s long overdue, but 
will certainly add value to the service. In areas where voice minutes 
are still limited or expensive.
